Unlike in Is This Me? it's summer! It's hard for me to think about work during the summer, but alas I must. I doubt you want to think about courses, so I thought I’d talk about travel. My favorite college vacation was a beach getaway. This particular trip occurred after my sophomore year and was the last before I became financially self-reliant, in other words broke!
In Georgia, where I grew up, beaches were the most popular summer destinations, being close and relatively inexpensive. Here in Colorado students head to the mountains for river rafting, hiking 14ers, rock climbing, biking, and spelunking. Others take in local concerts or travel to music festivals around the country.
If you’re looking for something with a growth or learning component you may want to check out USA Today’s article on four trips every college student should take at http://college.usatoday.com/2015/05/23/4-field-trips-college-students-should-take-this-summer/. They list visiting and volunteering on farms and in schools, or heading to an art museum or professional conference.

The article offers insight on how to take a great stress-relieving vacation! College students, adults, and kids alike can all benefit from a great R&R break. Personally, I ‘m off to Hawaii for the first time and I can’t wait!
