To follow up on my Top 10 Romantic Date Ideas, I thought I’d share some romantic places to visit. Fortunately for me I know a travel expert and photographer, The Scenic Suitcase, who was willing to share some of their photos. I included some spots from scenes in my Perfect romance series so see if you can spot them.

Top 10 Most Romantic Places to Visit

Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

Eiffel Tower – What could be more romantic than the Eiffel Tower at night? With the sweeping mall and views of the river and city of Paris, all lit with thousands of lights, some may think it a bit cliché, but the Eiffel Tower’s draw has been recreated in countless productions. Reaching 330 meters, or 1,083 ft and about eight-one stories high and named “La dame de fer” or “Iron Lady”, the Eiffel Tower Is one of the most iconic structures in the world. Chloe in the novel Perfect has an obsession with living in Paris and, in at least one version of her life, experiences all that Paris has to offer, even potentially a proposal under the tower. Learn more about the alternate paths of Chloe in the romance novel, Perfect.

Venice, Italy

Venice Italy – Arguably one of the most picturesque cities in Italy, Venice boast floating palaces surrounded by an ancient network of canals. Take a gondola tour on the Grand Canal to experience the most spectacular building in Venice. And if you’re a book lover like me, you’ll visit the Libreria Acqua Alta Book Store. To protect their books and magazines, this bookstore placed them all in waterproof containers including bathtubs and even a full-sized Gondola which creates a unique and a bit of a Dr. Seuss-ish whimsical experience.

Maldives – The Maldives is a nation of islands that span the equator in the Indian Ocean. Comprised of 1192 islands the country spans 871 kilometers. From private floating huts, to resorts, hotels, and liveaboard leisure boats, the Maldives has many ways to experience the magic of the islands and ocean.

Wedding Lock Bridge, Riga, Latvia – Overlooking Riga’s Freedom Monument in Bastejkalns Park sits a small pedestrian bridge that crosses over the city canal. It’s named Padlock Bridge or the Wedding Lock Bridge and it’s a local tradition for couples, just after marrying, to place a lock on the bridge to seal their love forever.

Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon, Arizona – Perched 4,000 ft above sea level within the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation, Antelope Canyon offers swoon-worthy panoramas for romantics who love natural wonders. Formed by wind erosion, Navajo Sandstone slot canyon with its winding corridors, Antelope Canyon is the perfect setting to get all the feels in.

Ruby Falls, Tennessee – Leo Lambert accidentally discovered Ruby Falls over a century ago and name the falls after his wife. The fall is the tallest and deepest underground waterfall open to the public in the U.S. Special Friday night tours offer visitors a glass-front elevator ride and through the cavern.

Borealis Basecamp, Alaska – Watch the Northern Lights dance overhead from within fiberglass geodesic igloos at Borealis Bootcamp, just 25 miles north of Fairbanks. The camp features a restaurant, sauna, and the private igloos to experience the swirling, dancing colors of the Northern Lights.

Grand Canyon, Arizona

Grand Canyon, Arizona – Experience the Grand Canyon, and its 227 mile-long, 18 mile-wide limestone, sandstone, and shale caverns and cliffs rafting the Colorado River, hiking, from a helicopter, or on the Skywalk 4,000 ft above the canyon floor.

Central Park, NYC

Central Park, Shakespeare Garden, NYC – Hidden inside New York’s Central Park between 79th and 80th Streets, the Shakespeare Garden is designed with four acres of flowers, trees, and shrubs planted to recreate Shakespeare’s native English countryside landscape.

The Cumberland Falls Moonbow Trail in Kentucky, USA – Sometimes referred to as the “Niagara of the South” theis 125 feet wide and 7 story tall waterfall is spectacular by day, but can be magical by moonlight. You an see these “moonbows”, also called white rainbows or lunar rainbows, a few days before, on, and after a full moon as long as the sky is clear. The water droplets in the air refract the light from the moon and form a rainbow, or two. What could be more romantic and magical than a night hike to see a rainbow over a waterfall. Cumberland Falls is located in Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. This waterfall is the setting for one of my scenes in Perfect Always. Chloe’s boyfriend, Isaac, plans the perfect night hike for the couple and Chloe’s bestie suspects a proposal is planned. Find out more about Perfect Always here.
