Book Heroes

Favorite book heroes

When I started to think about who my favorite book heroes where I realized I don’t read nearly as many books with male main characters as female. With this, the majority of my favorite book heroes aren’t the leads in books but supporting characters. Still, I think this is a pretty good list.

  1. Four – The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth – I loved Four’s character, serious, brave, and level headed, but also with a soft side
  2. Peeta – The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins – the unlikely hero perhaps, loyal and compassionate
  3. The father in The Road by Cormac McCarthy – also known as “the man”, a courageous and brave character who puts his son’s needs above his own and sacrifices for the well-being of his child.
  4. Frodo Baggins – The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolken – Who doesn’t love Frodo? A simple man longing for adventure becomes the hero to all.
  5. Troy from Lovelock Ones by Tricia Copeland – I had to throw a couple of my favorite heroes from my books in the mix here, Troy is at first reluctant to engage but is swept up in Jema’s passion for saving her sister. Then the struggle becomes personal and he decides that he must be on the right side of things.
  6. Possible spoiler alert – Jude from Kingdom Journals by Tricia Copeland, Kingdom of Honor – another unlikely hero perhaps, he travels with Camille to Italy supposedly to help save their fathers from an evil coven of witches. Is he playing the part of hero or is he really aligned with those that would ensnare her? Read Kingdom of Darkness then Kingdom of Honor to find out!
