2023 Award-Winning Audiobook

2023 Award-Winning Audiobook

I’m excited to announce that To be a Fae Guardian is a 2023 award-winning audiobook. To be a Fae Guardian was named one of three finalist in the Benjamin Franklin Award by the Independent Book Publishers Association in the Children’s/Young Adult Audiobook category. The finalist will be named May 5, 2023 at the Gold Award Ceremony in San Diego, CA.

An audiobook is a very special production and takes many people to bring it together. From writing, to editing, to narration, and audio production/editing, there are lots of steps to bringing an audiobook to market. I’ve had great people working with me every step of the way. First, my editor Jo Michaels of Indie Books Gone Wild did an excellent job with content and grammatical editing. She challenges me to bring out my best story with every line. Jennifer Oberth, also of Indie Books Gone Wild, proofread the book before the ebook and paperback release.

I was fortunate to meet up with Jacqueline Protho of The Audioflow. They hired Jillian Yetter to narrate the first book of the Realm Chronicles series, To be a Fae Queen. Jillian’s voice perfectly matched Titania’s character and I was excited to bring Jillian back to narrate the second book of the Realm Chronicles series, To be a Fae Guardian.

I love listening to audiobooks and my own audiobooks are no different. Audio content brings a book to life in a whole new way and I feel so honored to be able to offer my books in audiobook format. The first audiobooks I produced were in the young adult urban fantasy Kingdom Journals series with Amy Duechler and Dan Delgado narrators. The Kingdom Journals begins with the multi-award winning Kingdom of Embers and follows a trinity of witches prophesied to break an age old curse on the witch lines. The Realm Chronicles series is a spin-off/continuations young adult fantasy series to the Kingdom Journals and follows the main character Titania as she navigates being names Queen and sole monarch of her kingdom at age eighteen.

She may be the only fae standing between her realm and the evil lurking below. Will Titania be given the power to guard her realm from the evil lurking below?

Queen Titania defeats the creatures threatening to colonize Middle Earth. In ending them she broke High Council edicts. But their justice may limit her ability to defend the fae they seek to serve.

The evil spirits manifesting the terrorists lurk below, lying in wait to strike again. With loss of a much-needed ally, she lacks freedom to learn what the realm may be facing. Worse yet, many, even some most trusted compatriots, distance themselves from the reckless Queen she’s painted to be.

Can she find her footing in time to save them all from eternal darkness?

Award-Winning Audiobook To be a Fae Guardian Reviews

5* – April, Goodreads

Tricia Copeland took book 2 of her Realm Chronicles series and knocked it out of the park! Titania’s story continues and honestly the characters are to die for. So easy to fall in love with them. The author proved to be a master of suspense in this one and I was on the edge of my seat. Couldn’t put down if I tried!

5* – Julia, Goodreads

I LOVE Titania. I feel her exhaustion because the effective first-person POV shows us everything she feels and thinks, so when I see her choose to be mature and choose to engage in reasonable dialogue even when she’s struggling emotionally and feeling pain and questioning herself, oh, I can just FEEL everything weighing on her, and my heart is so sad for her when things STILL don’t go right even though she “always tries to do the right thing”, and I’m just rooting so hard for her ALL THE TIME! She’s still realistic and believable. Her insecurities make sense. She has a lot of hard choices to make, both big-picture problems to solve for the kingdom and also personal drama. And that personal drama never comes from stupid contrived misunderstandings. It REALLY feels like how real people would try to prioritize feelings over duty in completely reasonable ways. Everything about the way she’s written is SO GOOD. And, honestly, a bit unique in fantasy that I’ve read lately!!

5* – Vanessa, Goodreads

Book 2 of this series did not disappoint. The first person writing means that you can’t help but really connect with Titania, the protagonist. This book, though, sightly less action packed than the first one, was just as amazing. It focuses on Titania’s struggles with losing the people she loves whilst fighting the great evil that threatens her realm. The introduction of her cousins was a great addition to the storyline. Titania’s strength and maturity beyond her years is amazing, yet her sometimes rash decisions and emotional outbursts remind you that she is but a teenager. From heartbreak to new friendships, this book has it all and I look forward to what book 3 has to offer.
Another incredible novel by Tricia Copeland whose writing style sends you to a magical world. Until we meet again…

This was a great listen. Took a road trip and listen to this epic story. It pulled me in immediately and had my senses on alert. This story has it all family drama, love and bravery. Looking forward to listening or read more from this author. Just love how the author paints you an amazing story.

4* – Bobbi, Audible

This is my first audiobook by this author. I really enjoyed listening to it. I look forward to listening to more by this author. I enjoyed how the narrator was able to pull me into the story by using different tones of voice. It also helped keep the story engaging. The characters took me on an adventure of magic and evil spirits. They are not only connectable and the narrator gave life to the story. This is a story of a journey to Middle Earth and a race of survival to save all from darkness. I highly recommend this audiobook and this author.

Audiobook Narrator

Jillian spent 10 years as a high school English Teacher. In 2019, she was faced with the difficult decision to leave the classroom due to illness. In an effort to satiate her love of literature and connection to books, she turned to listening to audiobooks. As an Audiobook Narrator, her goal is to breathe life into a story through a performance that lifts the characters off the page and builds a world around the listener. As a former teacher, she grasps the nuance of written-word and carry each piece as I transform it into spoken-word. She wants nothing more than to nurture each author’s book-baby and bring it to life with her performance .
