For Hispanic Heritage month this year I’ve gathered my top picks of romances by Hispanic authors and new romances by Hispanic authors in 2022.
Although I can only claim 12.5% Hispanic heritage, I grew up spending two to three weeks a year with my Hispanic grandfather who I cherished and sought to emulate in many respects. His mother married a Spanish man while living in Cuba. When that marriage ended she took my grandfather and his siblings to live on their family farm in Florida. To be clear, I do not claim to be Hispanic. I took three years of Spanish in high school from a teacher who struggled to speak English and learned very little. But I do aim to bring diverse characters, ethnicity, religion, and heritage to my books so people of many backgrounds can laugh with, cry with, and hopefully love my stories.
