Ultimate ReaderTober Blog Post

It’s all about reading

This month I’ve read more books than I’ve read all year. It’s not even the end of the month and I’ve finished 4 1/2 books already. Cooling temperatures and a new found author had my nose stuck in a book half of my weekends, and I’m loving it. Plus, I surpassed by 2020 reading goal which admittedly was pretty low. If we’re not friends on Goodreads, please friend me here so we can share reading lists!

If you’re on my subscriber list you’ve either been following my October Fantasy Theme or my ReaderTober theme depending on the genre you love. You can hop over to yesterday’s blog post for my Top Fantasy & Sci-Fi Book List Post.

This post has all the content from my ReaderTober newsletters plus some extra content which is a deeper share about me and how and why my passion for writing began. Here’s what you’ll find in this post:

  1. Online Book Club Tips with download to save and share
  2. My Why Author Interview & deeper dive
  3. On the lighter side… Halloween movies for thrills and snuggles!

Online Book Club Tips

1.    Have the meeting last 60-75 minutes.
2.    Have a moderator that sets up the meeting and hosts or controls the technology piece of letting people into the video chat, etc.
3.    Start with introductions and an ice breaker question.
4.    Have a designated host that creates a topic and or chooses the book of the week or month.
5.    Decide how the discussion will work.
6.    At the end of the meeting talk about the next meeting topic and any group issues.
7.    Leave time for people to chat or socialize afterwards.

I hope this helps your book club keep connecting! You can download a more detailed info sheet with links to ice breakers here.

From Reading to Movies… it’s about connecting

I love talking books, but sometimes I just want to hang with friends and see a fun flick, spend some quality time with my kids, or snuggle with my hubby on the couch. I did a little research on some great Halloween flicks you can watch with friends or your SO!

Until next time, Happy Halloween!
