It’s time for my annual Halloween sale and this year it’s a vampire book Halloween sale. I’m excited to share this year’s Halloween Sale feature, a vampire book waiting to be read, Kingdom of the Damned. If you’re a fan of vampires, witches, angels, paranormal stories, and/or historical fantasy, this book is for you. The maturity rating: This is a clean new adult book with fade to black love scenes. Readers 13+ will enjoy this book.
The main character: Anne Scott, vampire born in the 16th century
The setting: 16th century Europe to 20th century America
Vampires in Kingdom of the Damned: These vampires are born not made. They live nearly a thousand years and possess the gifts of heightened senses, speed, and agility. Many live among humans but some live in tribes in remote regions. They prefer human blood as it tastes best to them, but will eat animal blood and any natural food products for sustenance.
The plot: Anne’s parents and siblings are burned by witches. She escapes to England with a family friend. As a young woman she meets a very special man who turns out to be a vampire as well. She falls deeply in love but he is killed by a tribesman. Turning her grief into action, she sets out to forge piece with the beings who have wronged her and her loved ones. But peace with her mortal enemies and even within the vampire tribes comes at a price. Is Anne willing to do anything to attain lasting prosperity for her people? Or is she damned to endure the plight they have been living under for centuries?
